On arrival at Livingstone Airport, you will be met by a representative of Sindabezi Island Lodge and transferred to the lodge by road and boat.

Sindabezi Island is a private island paradise nestled in the waters of the Zambezi, upstream of the Victoria Falls. Here, in a haven of natural tranquillity, you will truly experience the sights and sounds of the African bush.  From Sindabezi, the flood plain of the mighty Zambezi and the views of the wildlife in the nearby National Park will capture your soul.

Sindabezi Island sleeps only ten people, in five open fronted thatched chalets dotted around the shores of the island. The island is very rustic in style with no electricity, wood fires and hot bucket showers on demand. The unique design of the chalets allows you to encounter up close all the sights and sounds of the river and the creatures that live in and around it, including regular visits from Horace, the resident hippo. At night, you will fall asleep in the glow of a hurricane lamp and be awoken by magnificent sunrises over the flood plains of the river.

Day 2

Activities include sunset and sunrise boat trips, fishing, bird and gorge walks, canoeing, a visit to the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, visits to Livingstone markets and the local chief’s village, game drives in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park.

This is an excellent experience in itself, affording superb aerial views over the Delta and its wildlife.

Day 5

After an early morning game activity and a hearty breakfast, your pilot will fly you to Makgadikgadi Camp, where you will be accommodated for 2 nights in a luxury walk-in tent, under a canopy of indigenous trees.

Makgadikgadi Camp has been built with a belief that not everything in Africa is khaki.  Traditionally built using local craftsmen and their knowledge, Makgadikgadi camp is a unique and relaxing environment, combining Western comforts with the flair and colour of Africa.

Day 6

Makgadikgadi Camp offers one of the most intriguing views of Africa, totally different to any other African destination. Your guided safaris will be on four wheel ‘quad’ motorcycles, and will take you deep into the pans, where you will be able to visualize life as it existed tens of thousands of years ago. The pans are littered with prehistoric artefacts, left by an ancient civilization that once lived on the shores of what was the largest lake in the world.

Makgadikgadi is also home to huge herds of zebra and flamingos, who feed off the algae found in the pans, and which is responsible for their pink coloration.
