Camp Okavango is on Nxaragha Island in the heart of the Okavango Delta, in a private concession, which neighbours the Moremi Game Reserve.

Accommodation is in 12 classic East-African style en suite, tents, each of which sits on a raised deck, which also has a private sun deck. If you prefer the ultimate in exclusivity, Camp Okavango boasts the "Okavango Suite", a thatched cottage, which offers complete privacy, and which has proved to be popular with honeymooners.

The main building is made in a traditional manner, with thatch and lethaka (reeds), and houses a cocktail bar, lounge and library. There is also a dining area, which leads onto an open-air patio – excellent for evenings around the fireside. Dinner at Camp Okavango, served by the light of candelabra, is renowned.

Camp Okavango also had a secluded bird-viewing hide and a sun deck with plunge pool – very popular in the heat of the afternoon. You can also enjoy a siesta in a shaded hammock, or watch game from the elevated observation platform – with its views of the tranquil floodplains.

Activities include exploring the Okavango by mokoro (traditional dug-out) and motorboat. There are also guided nature walks on the nearby islands, which allow you to track some of the larger species that inhabit this unique area. Birding is excellent, and seasonal fishing for bream and tiger fish is also offered.

Unfortunately, Camp Okavango does not accept children under 12 years of age.

Client Feedback on Camp Okavango:
Such a different setting and quite a different style of lodge but just as comfortable, friendly and enjoyable. The delta is such a contrast to the desert and it was great to have a couple of outings in boats - we particulalry enjoyed the mokoro outing and the sundowner cafe on the river bank was a real treat!! It was also wonderful to do a walking safari - tracking the buffalo was an experience not to be missed. Our guide Robert was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions and provide intersting information about the environment and wildlife - he also found us a Situanga which we got a couple of great shots of! The 'tent' was fabulous, the setting great and, again, food and overall service wonderful.
